Service Learning is a method by which students learn and develop through active participation in thoughtfully organized community service experiences. It is a partnership among students, faculty, and the community to meet genuine needs of the community and provide opportunities for students' personal and academic development. All freshmen enrolled in the UNV 101 (University Orientation) course are required to attend two hours of orientation/training and must then volunteer eight hours of service to community sites.
