Background:
Ground breaking ceremonies will be held on April 24, 2009 during the quarterly meeting of the KSU Board of Regents for the construction of the Center for Sustainable Farms and Families. This 12,000 square foot facility will be located on the Kentucky State University Research Farm. The purpose of this facility is to showcase research conducted on the farm and to provide information to farmers on various farming techniques for both crops and livestock. The facility will be able to host a variety of events ranging from agricultural and livestock displays to farm machinery shows. This $5 million building is scheduled to be completed in April 2010.
