Upon the recommendation of Dr. James P. Chapman, Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Mary Evans Sias, President, the Board of Regents is asked to approve the following recommendation for faculty sabbatical leave.
Dr. April Fallon requests sabbatical leave for the spring 2012 semester. Dr. Fallon meets all the requirements for sabbatical leave as stated in section 2.9.4.1 of the Faculty Handbook. It is verified that Dr. Fallon's absence from the University will not hamper the work of the unit or the University, and no additional funding will be required to offer all necessary courses.
Dr. Fallon's plan of work includes the submission of two book-length poetry manuscripts for publication. Dr. Fallon currently has a book proposal for which she plans to prepare and submit several chapters of scholarship on Modernist American poets. Dr. Fallon's chapter submission will focus on the works of E.E. Cummings.
