The latest information we have readily available is that as of July 1, 2012 we had identified 154,000 2012-2013 applicants that they are no longer eligible for Pell Grants because they had reached or exceeded the new statutory maximum of the equivalent of 12 semesters. In addition 240,000 2012-2013 applicants were identified as having only partial eligibility for the award year.
2012-2013 Pell Grant disbursements are only now beginning to be processed. We will be examining the impact overall and the impact to HBCUs and other MSIs in particular as the award year progresses.
We do not have enough information at this time for 2012-2013 to analyze.
