# MINUTES

### 1. Call to Order:

Chairperson Karen Bearden welcomed attendees to the special meeting of the Kentucky State University Board of Regents and called the meeting to order at 9:10 a.m. on June 6, 2013.

### II. Roll Call:

Chairperson Douglas asked the Secretary to the Board to conduct the roll call:

Regent Banks, Present

Regent Barfield, Present

Regent Bearden, Present

Regent Conner, Present

Regent Franklin, Present

Regent Guarnieri, Present** After Roll Call

Regent Henry, Absent

Regent Lysonge, Present

Regent Reddy, Absent

Regent Whitehead, Present

Regent Williams, Present

Nine Regents were in attendance. A quorum was declared.

### III. Opening Remarks:

Regent Bearden and President Sias offered brief remarks welcoming the attendees to the meeting.

### IV. Closed Session:

Motion to enter into closed session for the purposes of discussing personnel matters was made by Regent Conner and seconded by Regent Whitehead. The motion passed unanimously. Thereafter, the board entered into closed session.

### V. Open Session:

The board returned to Open Session at approximately 10:00 a.m. The board took no action in closed session.

### VI. Adjournment:

Action: Motion was made to adjourn the Board meeting by Regent Whitehead and seconded by Regent Barfield. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 10:03 a.m.
