2015-16 Student Life Activities Calendar

JANUARY 2016

Spring 2016- KSU Diversity Appreciation Week speaks to the mission of The Student Life Office to empower students through cultural experiences and programs. “KSU Diversity Appreciation Week” will recognize and celebrate ethnicities and cultures and highlight contributions of Hispanics, Asians, Africans, Caucasians, Pacific Islanders, Muslims, Christian, Catholic and more while encouraging the KSU family to sample foods during the Taste of Diversity event and participate in games, contests, that embrace worldwide diversity.

This event provides students with an opportunity to experience different cultures and gain a better understanding of international cultural differences. Students will attend Louisville's "Worldfest," an outdoor festival to enjoy and experience different cultures from around the world.

Our goal is for students to be more appreciative of various cultures and be more inclined to embrace diversity. To ensure the success of this initiative, collaborative efforts and commitments have been made on behalf of Admissions and key organizations to join Student Life in promoting and implementing this initiative.

KSU Student of the Year is a contest based upon the contributions of a student to empower the world! The recipient is a student who goes beyond the call of duty to make a difference in the lives of others and is nominated by their peers for this prestigious award. This activity provides positive exposure for outstanding student achievement. Students will be more appreciative of the overall efforts of other students, staff/faculty and advisors as well as be motivated to achieve like recognition.
