Responsibilities:

As a member of the executive administrative cabinet, reporting directly to the President, I shared the responsibility of helping to ensure the financial viability of this college. To accomplish this goal, I had an active role on several committees that were central to moving the institution forward. These included the following: chair of Budget committee, member of Strategic Planning, Registration, Technology, Self-Study, Development.

  • Provided administrative oversight responsibility of the Administration and Finance division. This division included the following departments: administration & fiscal affairs; human resources; data processing center; auxiliary enterprises (bookstore, campus post office, print shop, dining facility, and laundering service); and PBX telephone service center.
  • Provided financial management and grants management advice and assistance.
  • Developed and reviewed internal financial control policy.
  • Conducted reviews, analysis and evaluations of financial programs through examination of existing regulations, internal controls, functional requirements, policies and procedures, transactions or systems outputs.
  • Evaluated capital projects and the related funding.
  • Identified and developed relationships with potential donors.

Major Accomplishments:

• Maintained an effective reporting and fiscally sound unit that resulted in renewal of accreditation for Talladega College effective July 1, 1999.
