Dr. Thompson:

After review of Dr. Tamara Sluss's dossier, it is my recommendation that Dr. Sluss is granted promotion to Full Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, Division of Mathematics and Sciences at Kentucky State University.

Dr. Sluss, who has served the University since 2005, has presented a dossier detailing exemplary teaching and service to the institution as well as a robust research agenda of national and international recognition. Her recommendations from then Dean, Samuel Oleka; Dr. Fariba Bigdel-Jahed, Chair of the Division of Mathematics and Sciences, and Dr. Robert Mania, Chair of the University Tenure and Promotion Committee, all recommended her for promotion in 2014.

Dr. Sluss's initial application for promotion was halted due to the moratorium placed on tenure and promotion at that time. While the moratorium is still halted for promotion, I agree with your initial assessment that it is in the best interest to review those dossiers that were in progress.

As well, I have been impressed with her work with students in the classroom and through experiential learning activities through the Whitney Young Center for Global Leadership.

Thus, my review of her dossier concurs with the forwarded recommendations to grant her promotion to Full Professor.
