Title: Programs to Reduce Obesity in High Obesity Areas

The major goal of this intervention program is to provide and engage the residents of selected Mississippi counties disparately impacted by overweight or obesity through environmental- and behavioral-change resources aimed at preventing and/or reducing overweight and obesity prevalence that could positively influence community-wide behavioral changes that may (a) decrease the number of new cases of obesity among adults and children in identified Mississippi counties; (b) limit the number of new cases of obesity among adults and children in identified Mississippi counties; and (c) increase regular physical activity. Knowledge gleaned from this intervention program could be used to create and implement strategies that prevent disease and improve public health.
