Dr. Ulrich is one of the few faculty members who has put off his research for rebuilding of the Social Work unit, to resurrect and gain reaccreditation by his leadership. In addition to teaching he has tirelessly served the University in many crucial roles such as recruiting students and developing the Master of Gerontology program.
Dr. Ulrich's dedicated service has won the respect of fellow faculty members, and he has thus become a highly valued member of the university community.
In accordance with the University policy and the Unit Tenure and Promotion Committee, I recommend with no reservation, the tenure and promotion of Dr. Stephen Ulrich to the rank of Associate Professor based on his merits in the area of teaching, effectiveness and general service to the University, most notably and particularly, to the Social Work faculty members.
