RE: Application for Tenure and Promotion of Dr. Stephen Ulrich (1) On 17th September, 2014 the Unit Tenure and Promotion Committee (T & P) met in closed session and voted four to zero (4-0) in favor of granting Dr. Stephen Ulrich tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor.
(A) The Committee members were: Christopher Daniel (Chair), Arthur Hayden, Reginald Thomas, and Jean Smith (outside member). (B) The Committee Chair was appointed by the unit chair based upon rank. (C) Assignment of PUA/SW/CJ (unit) faculty to serve on committee initiated by unit chair on 8th September and was based upon following criteria: (i) tenured with the rank of Associate Professor, or higher, (ii) availability and willingness to serve on the committee. (D) Request for outside member initiated by unit chair on 8th September. Four tenured members of the KSU community were queried, three declined. Dr. Smith is a faculty member of the School of Business.
Dr. Ulrich's Dossier was reviewed by the unit chair, in the presence of Dr. Ulrich, on 10th September. The Dossier was held in the custody of unit Administrative Assistant Dorothy Campassi and made available during normal office hours 10-17 September for committee review. All members of the Committee were able to review the Dossier before meeting on the 17th.
I have reviewed Dr. Ulrich's Dossier and the Committee's recommendation, and do enthusiastically support their recommendation. It is with pleasure that I now forward this endorsement, with the Dossier to you for your consideration.
