Recommendation

The institution has one of three choices in dealing with the matters of low enrollment, overstaffing (faculty) and curriculum inflation in the general education core. Those choices are as following:

1. Increase enrollment through the efforts of every stakeholder especially faculty that are under load;
2. Reduce faculty membership strategically in overstaffed areas, and:
3. Eliminate programs of lesser demand and/or reduce general education requirements.

Recruitment

Faculty have been engaged in the recruitment of students during Fall 2014 (see Appendix E). They have partnered with admissions staff at Kentucky Community and Technical Colleges System (KCTC) Schools and specifically at Bluegrass Community and Technical Colleges (BCTC).

Faculty have also been engaged in recruitment at the following events during the Fall 2014 semester. In addition to participation in recruitment events at KCTC and specifically at BCTC more than 32 faculty members also participated in the following events.

• Woodford High School – Oct. 20, 2014
• Frankfort, Franklin County and Western Hill High Schools – Oct. – Dec., 2014
• Waggoner High School, Louisville, KY- November 19, 2014

It is important to note that recruitment results are reflected in the Spring 2015 academic semester, but also in the Fall 2015 entering class.
