Faculty and Student Full-Time Equivalents
The following formula was used to calculate the Full-Time Student to Full-Time Equivalent Faculty.
Table 5: Student and Faculty FTE Calculations Including Required General Education Courses
| Program Providing the Service Courses | FTE Students Taught in Service Courses | FTE Students (majors) in Program | Total FTE Students Taught by program | Number of Instructional Faculty (FTEF) | Calculated Equivalent Faculty/Student Ratio |
|---|
| Biology | 335 | 90 | 425 | 6 | 70 |
|---|
| Business/Finance | 58 | 163 | 221 | 8 | 28 |
|---|
| Chemistry | 58 | 18 | 76 | 3 | 25 |
|---|
| English | 628 | 16 | 644 | 16 | 40 |
|---|
| Fine/Studio Arts | 200 | 14 | 214 | 3 | 15 |
|---|
| Liberal Arts/WYS | 658 | 25 | 683 | 12 | 57 |
|---|
| Mathematics | 116 | 40 | 156 | 11 | 14 |
|---|
| Music | 153 | 25 | 178 | 8 | 22 |
|---|
| Psychology | 414 | 88 | 502 | 4 | 125 |
|---|
| Social Studies: Sociology/History | 368 | 31 | 399 | 4 | 92 |
|---|
| Spanish/ASL | 288 | 4 | 292 | 2 | 146 |
|---|
| Speech (not a program) | 249 | 0 | 249 | 1 | 249 |
|---|
Full-Time Student to Full-Time Equivalent Faculty is the number of students served by faculty in each of the programs. It is important to note that Speech, which is a minor program, possesses the highest FTEF with service to 249 students through this equation. Mathematics, Fine Arts, and Music faculty maintain a low equivalence of students being served by their faculty despite the general education service course requirements.
