Events
Fall Open House – Date TBD but looking at a date early in the fall semester, possibly September 19 or October 24
Three Thorobred Express Events – one in Elizabethtown (date has already been tentatively set for Friday, September 4); one in Lexington (conversation has already occurred with alumni and Ms. Clay to look for a venue and set a date); and one in Eastern Kentucky (conversation has occurred to select the most advantageous city to host the event); all dates will be on Fridays.
Service County Day on campus – an event to invite all of the students from our service counties
Guidance Counselors Conference – an event to host high school guidance counselors to provide information about KSU
Fall Transfer Day – possibly an evening event
Form a partnership with departments on campus to assist with recruiting students for a specific major. Also, when they have groups on campus, have an admissions representative come and speak with the group and provide admissions recruitment materials
College Fairs and High School Visits
Attend all (or as many as feasible possible) college fairs on the Kentucky Association for Admissions Counseling (KYACAC) travel calendar
Attend select Infinite Scholars college fairs
Look at attending NACAC's National College Fairs in select locations that would be advantageous for the University (i.e., cities such as Chicago, Charlotte or Atlanta)
Look at attending other out-of-state college fairs that have proven to be advantageous for the University. Alumni could assist with these fairs.
High School Visits and Follow-Up
Schedule individual high school visits at local, service county and other high schools to recruit students
Follow-up and stay in touch with students after college fairs and high school visits via email and telephone to stay in contact through the entire recruitment cycle
Follow-up and stay in touch with admitted students via email or phone calls through the entire recruitment cycle
Follow-up and stay in touch with scholarship candidates and awardees via email and telephone throughout the entire recruitment cycle
