I he Office of Alumni Relations introduced the Alumni Survival Kit (ASK). The effort is intended to increase alumni engagement. Alumni Survival Kits consist of various content, according to chapter need, including admission information, the national and regional alumni constitutions, financial and tax exempt information, recognition items.
The Office of Alumni Relations also introduced a quarterly postcard, “KSU TODAY 2015,” in February. The purpose of the card is to create another touch point with alumni and highlight upcoming KSU events. The card is designed to drive alumni to the website for detailed information. The next postcards will be distributed in May, August and November.
Onward & Upward is now available on the KSU website. Alumni and friends can go to the website, click on the Onward & Upward link and view the entire publication. Our goal is to reach all of our alumni through electronic media. We currently have about 1,500 email addresses out of 8,092 alumni members with valid mailing addresses.
A new billboard featuring a new tag line, “Bring Your Skills to the Hill – Discover What You Can Be at KSU,” is now up. The billboard is designed to drive people to the website for detailed information.
Through the third quarter of fiscal year 2015, the majority of the media coverage of Kentucky State University in newspaper and television stories was positive, generating publicity and goodwill for the University. As a result, the favorable reporting will increase opportunities for recruitment, fundraising and branding. The increase in favorable reporting efforts are being capitalized primarily through the Give 9 initiative. KSU employees have added a live link to information about Give 9 to their email signatures. This message of paying it forward is shared in all internal and external communications to increase donor contributions.
