BACKGROUND: The intent of Kentucky State University’s participation in the Circle City Classic is to celebrate the history and achievements of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The Circle City Classic helps support youth initiatives, awarding scholarships to deserving students attending colleges and universities across the country.
SUMMARY OF PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES: Circle City Classic activities include a sponsor reception, an NCAA Coaches Luncheon presented by the Indianapolis Colts, a visit to the NCAA national headquarters, a pep rally at Monument Circle, a Classic Cabaret, the Circle City Classic parade and the Circle City Classic football game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC GOALS: It is our goal to position Kentucky State University among the nation's most visible post-secondary institutions and as an effective force for progress in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, working collaboratively and efficiently to boast its position of providing the highest quality education for the highest return on investment while improving the quality of life and driving economic growth in the Commonwealth.
PROGRAM IMPLICATIONS: Participating in the Circle City Classic provides exposure for Kentucky State University and celebrates the nation’s HBCUs.
