Dear Kimberly,
The Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP) is pleased to inform you that the Kentucky State University has been selected to participate in Cohort 2 of Degrees When Due. As you know, Degrees When Due is a college completion initiative, designed to help states and institutions increase attainment among the “some college, no degree” population while also closing racial and socioeconomic equity gaps.
Degrees When Due seeks to build expertise, capacity, and infrastructure on campuses across the nation to get near-completers over the finish line. Your campus application demonstrated a deep commitment to serving adult student learners, strong leadership capacity, willingness to seek equitable change, and a focus on significantly increasing degree attainment. We are proud to partner with you in this important work.
Degrees When Due was developed from two evidenced-based strategies, Credit When Its Due and Project Win Win to support states and institutions with scaling adult reengagement and reverse transfer strategies. As a Cohort 2 participant, you and your institution will receive access to a robust technical assistance web-based platform, on-demand coaching and support, and connections to a national network of other state and institutional leaders all working to reengage their adult student population and remove system barriers to student success.
IHEP will launch Cohort 2 in September 2019 and will hold a virtual orientation for campus participants on October 17 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm EST. This Cohort 2 orientation will bring together team members from all participating institutions to learn more about the initiative, understand roles and expectations, establish connections with peers, and identify next steps in successful implementation.
Your campus Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be sent in a separate email. Please be sure to review all commitments (including Appendix A) outlined in the MOU and complete by August 30, 2019.
Please contact Emily Sellers at esellers@ihep.org with any questions.
Sincerely,
