BACKGROUND: In the spring of 2019, Student Engagement and Campus Life presented a plan to renovate the weight room on the first floor of the William Exum Center. The plan was approved by KSU campus officials and Board of Regents. Kentucky State University officials met with Schellers Fitness (Louisville KY) and created a design to renovate the weight room. Construction for the weight room started in the summer of 2019 and is now complete and ready for use.
Authorization is requested to name this new campus fitness area in honor of a former student athlete, staff member, coach, and athletic director of Kentucky State University that was instrumental in the development and prominence of athletics and student life, William Graham.
William Graham served three stints at KSU totaling more than 30 years. In 2004, Graham was appointed the director of the William Exum Center, a position he held for more than 12 years.
