This graph represents the average number of Student Credit Hours (Credit Hours per course * number of students in course) generated by faculty member.
For the College of Agriculture, Communities, and Environment, this number is low because their faculty generally teach only 3-4 credit hours, or one course per semester. This is due to their primary research appointment.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Business and Computational Sciences has higher number per faculty member due to the nature of the courses in those colleges. CHSS teaches many service courses, including ENG, SPE, PSY, SOC, and Arts and Humanities. These courses are typically highly enrolled. CBCS includes all the Math and Physics courses. These general education courses are also highly enrolled, particularly with the increase in the number of freshmen this year.
Adjunct faculty in both CHSS and CBCS teach highly enrolled courses.
There is only one ROTC instructor, so he has a higher load of courses than others.
