Fall 2016 was the first semester we used digital textbooks as part of the Pearson contract. There were several bumps along that road relating to availability of textbooks.
During the transition period in 2017-18, there was a period of time where the student success unit, which was paid with soft money, was transitioned over to University College. Some procedures changed as did our early alert software. Faculty are beginning training on the Beacon software which is a part of the Campus Labs suite. This particular program facilitates the process of faculty referrals for additional student support.
Next Steps
Our next steps as they relate to grade trends in the DFW % are similar or the same as those within the discussion of Fall 2019 midterm grades.
The Provost along with others in Academic Affairs review this data regularly in order to plan activities that will assist in the improvement of these percentages.
