FROM:ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
ACTION ITEM:NO
BACKGROUND: Academic Affairs continues to monitor the grade distribution report and trends based on student grades of D, F, and W. The information provided reports the trends from AY 2014-15 through AY 2018-19.
SUMMARY OF PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES: The following graphs represent the % of D, F, and W grades earned over a 5-year period. While the percentage of DFW grades issued for the undergraduate general education and university orientation courses is higher than other categories, we do see a decreasing trend over the five-year period. The trend for all other areas is a slight increase over the five-year period.
ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC GOALS:
Goal 2: Achieve Academic Excellence Across all Programs and Colleges, Increase Student General Education Skills, Degree Persistence, Career Readiness and Graduation Rates.
