The Committee’s Chair, Mr. Stephen Mason, called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m.

At least five (5) members were present, so a quorum was established.
MOTION by Regent Dukes:
Move the Committee to approve the Agenda of the April 28, 2023, regular meeting of the Presidential Search Committee.
Seconded by Dr. Wang and passed without dissent.
Prior to moving into closed session, Chair Mason identified a question had been asked at every forum, namely, whether all candidate applications could be accessed and viewed by Committee members. Chair Mason reported that 89 individuals had applied. After reviewing those applications, the Committee has pared the applicant pool down to 54 and is moving towards sending up to five (5) semifinalists to the Board of Regents.
