EdReady program is integrated into the classes to provide further academic support.

Attendance is closely monitored. Students with poor attendance or who are struggling in the class are contacted by the professors and ICs. A learning contract was developed to increase student accountability and provide a clear plan of action. Student's advisor is kept informed.

5. A brief Description of Student Impacts by Course and Content Areas

"Overall student impacts of your corequisite coursework. What were the success rates in corequisite courses compared to students meeting benchmarks of readiness through other state or institutional measures?"

Table 2: Spring 2018

CourseSuccess RateGrade
MAT 10171%ABC
MAT 11167%ABCD
MAT 115A80%ABC
MAT 11160%ABC
  • Course grade data was received from the office of Institutional Research. Pass rate computations were done by the math department.

**This computation is included because a grade of D is acceptable in MAT 111.

MAT 101: The success rate for MAT 101, Algebraic Concepts, stayed consistent from fall to spring. The enrollment for spring was 1/3 of the fall enrollment. Approximately 1/2 of the students reenrolled in MAT 101 in the spring after failing to pass the course in the fall. 85% of students repeating MAT 101 in the spring successfully passed with a C or higher.

  1. 72% of students taking MAT 101 for the first time fall 2018 successfully passed with a C or higher.
  2. 64% (14/22) of students taking MAT 101 for the first time spring 2018 successfully passed with a C or higher.
  3. For students taking MAT 101 for the first time during fall 2017, math ACT subscores were positively and significantly correlated to earned grade (r = .30, p < .01).
  4. For students during spring 2018 taking MAT 101 for the first time or repeating the course, math ACT subscores did not significantly correlate to earned grade.
