the sequence to the Senate Curriculum Committee for approval on November 19, 2018, and afterward to the full Faculty Senate for approval on November 26, 2018, which is broadly representative of all of the University's academic units. At both phases of the process, faculty from across the University were given opportunity to comment upon and suggest revisions to the three courses, and both approvals included discussion of the three-course sequence by the Senate bodies. Most of the questions and concerns focused on the logistics of implementing the courses and having them cross-listed with the existing IGS sequence rather than on the content and approach of the courses. The proposals passed both bodies unanimously. The approvals were then followed by the official "roll out" of the QEP on November 29, 2018, where the entire University community was invited to a question-and-answer session on the QEP and where copies of this proposal were made available.
President's Approval
The President was formally presented with the QEP proposal in November of 2018 and sent his written approval of the content of the QEP. President Brown has also been of help in presenting the proposal to both the Board of Regents, to disseminating the topic of the QEP at the January 2019 Encampment (attended by all faculty and staff), and, most recently, by presenting the QEP to the student body at the February 2019 "Town Hall Meeting" for their reactions and feedback.
The table below summarizes the steps that led to the selection of the QEP and to future steps for implementation. Additional details on implementation of the QEP appear at the end of the Budget section.
