E. Vibration Measurement Standards

1. Vibration measurements shall be conducted in accordance with the most current versions of DIN 4150-3 and BS 7385-2, or approved successor or equivalent standards providing equal or greater rigor, accuracy, and public protection.
2. Instrumentation and Method. Testing shall be performed using a tri-axial vibration monitor or accelerometer capable of recording Peak Particle Velocity in three directions.
2. Measurements shall be taken over a representative operating period sufficient to capture typical facility conditions, including cyclical equipment operation, as determined by the qualified professional conducting the test.
3. If a successor or equivalent standard is used, the testing professional shall provide a brief written statement explaining why the alternative standard is equivalent to or more conservative than the standards listed above.
