Regent Fields made a suggestion of policies to include in the syllabus of the FYE classes. Dr. Smith responded.
Regent Fields also asked if the appeals committee will present the students with a list of costs for room damages or kicked out of the residence halls. Dr. Smith, Michael DeCourcy, Dr. Akakpo and Chair Dukes responded.
Chair Dukes said that she hopes that we have a clearly defined and administered process for housing in the fall so that nobody falls through the cracks and we end up with a situation much like what the university had at the end of the Spring 2026 school year. She further said she would hate to see some of the same things happen. Dr. Akakpo and Dr. Smith responded.
Regent Obielodan asked if as part of the documented evidence, does the university provide them with copies of the rooms they are occupying when they check in. Mr. DeCourcy and Dr. Smith responded in detail.
Regent Obielodan asked if they have arrangements for international students who have no place to go during the school breaks. Dr. Smith and Mr. DeCourcy responded.
Regent Fields said they can't make motions and vote on it so he is going to adjourn the meeting.
