Today is a day of celebration, reflection, and pride. On behalf of Kentucky State University, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to each member of the Class of 2026.
Commencement is more than the completion of a degree. It is the recognition of hard work, persistence, sacrifice, and growth. Each of you has followed a path shaped by commitment and purpose, and that journey has brought you to this important milestone.
During your time at Kentucky State, you have developed knowledge,
sharpened your judgment, and prepared for lives of leadership and service. You have grown as students and as individuals. You have contributed to this University through your presence, your effort, and your determination to move forward.
As graduates, you now carry with you not only the benefit of your education, but also the responsibility that comes with it. The world you are entering needs people of integrity, courage, and vision. It needs graduates who are prepared to think clearly, work diligently, and lead in ways that strengthen their communities and open doors for others.
Kentucky State University has long stood for opportunity, excellence, and impact. You are now part of that continuing legacy. You join generations of Thorobreds who have used their education to make meaningful contributions across Kentucky and far beyond.
I hope you will always remember what this institution has poured into you and what you, in turn, have given to it. The Hill will always be part of your story, and you will always be part of ours.
