A Step Towards Net Zero at the King's Head
At the beginning of July, the King's Head in Hethersett hosted an inspiring event: the first climate conversation organised by Happy Healthy Hethersett. This gathering marked an important milestone in the community's journey towards sustainability, as it followed Opergy's ambitious Net Zero Action Plan for a Happy, Healthy Hethersett as presented at the Annual Parish Meeting in April 2025.
The event offered a warm and welcoming atmosphere, attracting residents, local leaders, and environmental enthusiasts eager to learn, discuss, and contribute to Hethersett's transition to a greener future. The King's Head provided the perfect backdrop, ensuring that participants felt at ease while exchanging ideas and fostering meaningful connections.

The plan outlines actionable strategies to reduce Hethersett's carbon footprint, with a focus on the built environment, renewable energy, sustainable transport, land use and increasing biodiversity, and community engagement. Participants took a deep dive into the plan's objectives, exploring how it can be successfully implemented at the local level.
