TITLE: AUTHORIZE AS-BUILT/CLOSE-OUT CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON AND C.J. HESSE INC. FOR THE PROJECT KNOWN AS “FY 2018 NJDOT MUNICIPAL AID – IMPROVEMENTS TO WOODLANE ROAD” WHEREBY DECREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $84,156.92 RESULTING IN AN ADJUSTED CONTRACT PRICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $460,934.28

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson previously awarded a contract to C.J. Hesse Inc. for the project known as “FY 2018 NJDOT Municipal Aid – Improvements to Woodlane Road” in the amount of $545,091.20; and

WHEREAS, Township Engineer, Julio Vega, Jr., has recommended the approval of As-Built/Close-Out Change Order No. 1 decreasing the contract by $84,156.92 as a result of final as-built quantities (per attached “Schedule A”); and

WHEREAS, the approval of this As-Built/Close-Out Change Order #1 will result in the return of the performance guarantee posted for this project. The return of said performance guarantee will be contingent upon the posting and acceptance of any required Maintenance Guarantee.

WHEREAS, it is now the desire of the Township Council to act upon the Engineer's recommendation and to approve said Close-Out Change Order No. 1.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as follows:
That the Township Council hereby formally approves and authorizes As-Built/Close-Out Change Order No. 1 to the contract between the Township of Jackson and C. J. Hesse Inc., decreasing the contract by $84,156.92 for the project known as “FY 2018 NJDOT Municipal Aid – 2018 Improvements to Woodlane Road” resulting in an adjusted contract price in the amount of $460,934.28.
That upon the adoption of the within resolution, the Township Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to the Township Engineer, Julio Vega Jr., Sharon Pinkava, Purchasing Department, Lucas Construction Group and any other interested parties.
