WHEREAS, it is now the desire of the Township Council to act upon the Engineer's recommendation and to approve said Close-Out Change Order No. 1.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as follows:

  1. That the Township Council hereby formally approves and authorizes As-Built/Close-Out Change Order No. 1 to the contract between the Township of Jackson and Meco Inc., decreasing the contract by $112,076.85 for the project known as “2019 Pavement Improvements” resulting in an adjusted contract price in the amount of $1,432,346.17.
  2. That upon the adoption of the within resolution, the Township Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to the Township Engineer, Julio Vega Jr.; Sharon Pinkava, Purchasing Department, Meco Inc. and any other interested parties.

TITLE: AUTHORIZE AS-BUILT/CLOSE-OUT CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 AND FINAL TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON AND P&A CONSTRUCTION INC. FOR THE PROJECT KNOWN AS “2020 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM” WHEREBY DECREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT BY $28,384.81 RESULTING IN AN ADJUSTED CONTRACT PRICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $809,868.65

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson previously awarded a contract to P&A Construction Inc. for the project known as “2020 Roadway Improvement Program” in the amount of $838,253.46; and

WHEREAS, Township Engineer, Julio Vega, Jr., has recommended the approval of As-Built/Close-Out Change Order No. 3 and final, decreasing the contract by $28,384.81 as a result of final as-built quantities (per attached “Schedule A”); and

WHEREAS, the approval of this As-Built/Close-Out Change Order #3 and final will result in the return of the performance guarantee posted for this project. The return of said performance guarantee will be contingent upon the posting and acceptance of any required Maintenance Guarantee.
