WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson Police Department is seeking authorization to apply for and accept the “CY 2021 Click It or Ticket Seat Belt Mobilization” commencing May 24, 2021 through June 6, 2021 from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety; and
WHEREAS, the State has awarded a grant to the Township of Jackson in the amount of $6,000.00 which will pay for 100 hours of overtime enforcement during the two (2) week mobilization period with a maximum rate to be reimbursed of $60.00/per hour; and
WHEREAS, the grant will pay for Police Officers to work overtime to implement a targeted seat belt enforcement campaign as part of the nationwide “Click It or Ticket Seat Belt Mobilization Grant”.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey the following:
That the Jackson Township Police Department is authorized to make application for and accept the CY 2021 Click It or Ticket Seat Belt Mobilization Grant from the State of New Jersey in the amount of $6,000.00.
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and the Township Clerk to attest to the Grant Acceptance Conditions.
That this resolution shall become effective immediately.
That upon adoption of this resolution, the Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to P.O. Edward Travisano, Patricia Schwark and any other interested parties.

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson Police Department is seeking authorization to apply for and accept a “Crash Abatement Tactics Grant” commencing October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022 from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety; and
WHEREAS, the State would award a grant to the Township of Jackson in the amount of $54,000.00 which will pay for 900 hours of traffic enforcement during the one (1) year period; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey the following:
That the Jackson Township Police Department is authorized to make application for and accept the Crash Abatement Tactics Grant from the State of New Jersey in the amount of $54,000.00.
