WHEREAS, The Department of Veteran Affairs determined that Jamie Green- Garlington at 17 Albert Court, Block 9703 Lot 7, has a service connected disability that was totally disabling effective 7/29/21 and has owned the above listed parcel since 10/31/16, and;

WHEREAS, the property owner has made application to the Township as a totally disabled veteran, which has been approved by the Municipal Assessor on 9/9/21 and;

WHEREAS, it is Township policy to grant the exemption for the current year, and up to two preceding years

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

1. The Tax Collector is directed to cancel taxes as follows: 2021 - 6,529.81 2022 - 7,639.04 - 1st half taxes
2. The Tax Collector is directed to process a refund for any overpayment due to the cancellation of taxes.
3. The parcel is to be exempted on the 2022 tax list

TITLE: AUTHORIZE TAX OVERPAYMENT REFUNDS

MOTION TO APPROVE BY: SAUICKIE MOTION SECONDED BY: FLEMMING YES: BORRELLI, CHISHOLM, SAUICKIE, FLEMMING, KERN

WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Township Tax Collector that the taxpayers as indicated on the attached Schedule “A” are entitled to overpayment refunds, and;

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Township Council to have these overpayments returned to the respective taxpayers;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, that:

1. The Tax Collector is hereby authorized to make overpayment refunds in the amount shown and to the taxpayers, as appears on Schedule “A” which made a part hereof.
2. Copies of this Resolution to the Tax Collector.
