WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-85 provides that the Director of the Division of Local Government Services may, at the request of the governing body make such amendment of the title, text or amount of any appropriation appearing in the budgets as may be necessary to make said item of appropriation available for the purpose required for the needs of any such municipality; and
WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 4-85 further provides that the Director may approve the change in title, text or amount of any appropriation; and
WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson has been approved for additional funds from the Ocean County Health Department which requires a cash match of $4,374.25.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Township Council of the Township of Jackson, desires to amend their 2021 budget to reflect a change in title, text and amount.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, as follows:
That the Mayor and Township Council do hereby request the Director of the Division of Local Government Services, to make the following amendment in the 2021 Budget:
FROM: General Appropriations:
TO: Ocean County Health Department Municipal Alliance Grant Matching Grant Portion $4,374.25
(Operations excluded for CAP)
Matching Grants ($8,507.89 to $4,133.64) $4,374.25

That the foregoing amendment in the opinion of the Mayor and Township Council, warranted and authorized by the statute above referred to, and is necessary for the reasons of the additional funds from the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs, which is required to match the Grant.
That two certified copies of the resolution shall be forwarded to the Township Auditor and the Chief Financial Officer.

TITLE: AUTHORIZE SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF BODY ARMOR REPLACEMENT FUND GRANT THROUGH THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY FY 2021

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson wishes to submit a fully funded grant application to the State of New Jersey, Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice for the FY 2021 State Body Armor Replacement Fund grant; and
WHEREAS, the amount of said funding will be determined at a later date by the Division of Criminal Justice, and upon said grant award determination, the Township of Jackson will apply for a 2021 Budget Amendment to the Division of Local Government Services in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:4-87
