TITLE: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZE A SPECIAL PERMIT TO THE JACKSON TOWNSHIP PBA TO ALLOW THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT THE JACKSON DAY EVENT BEING HELD AT JOHNSON PARK

WHEREAS, the Jackson Township Code Chapter 86-11 permits the issuance of a permit for the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages in a designated place at a designated time in connection with a special event, upon the authorization of the Township Council; and

WHEREAS, Jackson Day is scheduled for October 2, 2021, with hours from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm and the Jackson Township PBA has requested that the Township grant a Special Permit to allow the consumption of alcohol in a “beer garden”; and

WHEREAS, the Jackson Township PBA will need to obtain an ABC Social Affairs Permit for the event; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body to authorize the grant of a Special Permit under Chapter 86-11 to allow the consumption of alcohol at the event, Jackson Day, which is scheduled for Saturday October 2, 2021; provided that the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages shall comply with all other applicable ordinances, laws or regulations.

• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:
• That the governing body does hereby grant a permit to the Jackson Township PBA to allow the consumption of alcohol at the Jackson Day event to be held at Johnson Park on October 2, 2021.
• That a certified copy of this resolution, together with a copy of the Social Affairs Permit, shall be forwarded to the Chief of Police of the Township of Jackson.
