TITLE: AUTHORIZE CONTRACT AWARD TO EARLE ASPHALT COMPANY
FOR THE PROJECT KNOWN AS “FY 2020 IMPROVEMENTS TO WRIGHT DEBOW ROAD – PHASE 2” FOR A TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $459,713.13

WHEREAS, Jackson Township previously advertised for and received bids on September 14, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. for project known as “FY 2020 Improvements to Wright DeBow Road Phase 2”; and
WHEREAS, four (4) bids were received as follows:

WHEREAS, it appears that the apparent low bidder, Earle Asphalt Company, has satisfied all requirements of the bid specifications; and
WHEREAS, by letter dated September 15, 2020, Stephen Schreiber, P.E., C.M.E., the Jackson Township Engineer, has recommended to the Township Council to award a contract to Earle Asphalt Company as the lowest responsive bidder; and
WHEREAS, the Township Council wishes to accept the recommendation of its Consulting Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that sufficient funding exists for this purpose in the following Accounts: C-04-55-840-001-929 ($34,713.13) and G-02-40-444-000-629 ($425,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, this 28th day of September, 2021, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, that the Township of Jackson hereby awards a contract to Earle Asphalt Company for “FY 2020 Improvements to Wright DeBow Road Phase 2” in accordance with the bid specifications in the amount of $459,713.13; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the following:
Earle Asphalt Company.;
All other bidders;
Stephen Schreiber, Township Engineer;
Veronica Dingle, QPA, RPPO, Purchasing Agent;
Gregory P. McGuckin, Esquire, Township Attorney;
JANICE KISTY, R.M.C.
