WHEREAS, Jackson Township previously advertised for and received bids on September 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. for project known as “2021 Roadway Improvements”; and

WHEREAS, four (4) bids were received as follows:

WHEREAS, it appears that the apparent low bidder, Earle Asphalt Company, has satisfied all requirements of the bid specifications; and

WHEREAS, by letter dated September 15, 2020, Stephen Schreiber, P.E., C.M.E., the Jackson Township Engineer, has recommended to the Township Council that it award a contract to Earle Asphalt Company as the lowest responsive bidder; and

WHEREAS, the Township Council wishes to accept the recommendation of its Consulting Engineer; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that sufficient funding exists for this purpose in the following Accounts: C-04-55-840-001-929 ($$544,439.81) and C-04-55-842-000-029 ($1,324,473.32).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, this 28th day of September, 2021, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, that the Township of Jackson hereby awards a contract to Earle Asphalt Company for the Township's 2021 Roadway Improvement Program in accordance with the bid specifications in the amount of $1,868,913.13; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the following:

  • Earle Asphalt Company.;
  • All other bidders;
  • Stephen Schreiber, Township Engineer;
  • Veronica Dingle, QPA, RPPO, Purchasing Agent;
  • Gregory P. McGuckin, Esquire, Township Attorney;
