RICHARD EGAN – 526 DIAMOND ROAD – Stated at the last meeting a resident from Whispering Hills had stated he and members in his neighborhood were being harassed. These are serious crime and we have an obligation to find the people and arrest them. Mr. Egan asked BA Wall if there is any reports on file with the Police Department.
BA Wall would not be able to speak publicly about any matter that might be under Police investigation.
ERIK JONES- 722 HYSON ROAD - Asked Council about whether or not eruv lines are insured or if they carry some kind of policy. Concern about wires falling down or being a hazard to people. Stated most eruv lines are on public property and they're not on private property.
Attorney Greg McGuckin explained to Mr. Jones that anything on a person’s property would be covered under their own homeowners insurance. If they are on public property then the Township would be responsible if something happened on a Township facility. If it is a Township sign or poll, it would be a type of responsibility. If it’s a JCPL pole, they would have had to get permission and they would be responsible. The property owner on which it’s located could be responsible and causes damage to somebody and if someone owns a home, they’re going to have homeowners insurance. If it is on public property, it would come down to who posted, and put up the pole.
Council President Kern confirmed what Attorney McGuckin had said.
