TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON AND THE COUNTY OF OCEAN FOR FY 2021 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT FUNDING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $19,000.00

WHEREAS, the FY 2021 Homeland Security Grant is a program run by the Ocean County Sheriff's Department for approved purchases of equipment; and

WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety will provide supplemental funding to the County of Ocean, through the FY 2021 Homeland Security Grant; and

WHEREAS, the County of Ocean will provide the Jackson Township Police Department funding in an amount not to exceed $19,000.00 for the purchase of one (1) FIXED ALPR; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson wishes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the County of Ocean for the purpose of setting forth the obligations of the parties with respect to the purchase of one (1) Fixed ALPR in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the attached “Memorandum of Understanding”; and

WHEREAS, the “Memorandum of Understanding” shall be in full force and effect until June 1, 2024 or until such time all funds have been exhausted and all obligations met..

  • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as follows:
  • That the Township Council hereby formally authorizes the Mayor and Clerk to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.
  • That upon the adoption of the within resolution and the execution of said Memorandum of Understanding, the Township Clerk is authorized to forward copies of same to the County of Ocean Office of the Sheriff for their execution and return of a fully executed agreement to Jackson Township.
