TITLE: RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CANCELLATION OF TAXES FOR A 100% DISABLED VETERAN EXEMPTION ON BLOCK 16901 LOT 4

WHEREAS, The Department of Veteran Affairs determined that Mark Palzer at 145 Savannah Road, Block 16901 Lot 4, has a service connected disability that was totally disabling effective 7/1/21 and has owned the above listed parcel since 7/14/03, and;

WHEREAS, the property owner had made application to the Township as a totally disabled veteran, which had been approved by the Municipal Assessor on 11/30/21 and;

WHEREAS, it is Township practice, at this time, to grant the exemption for up to 4 (four) tax quarters preceding the approval date.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

  1. The Tax Collector is directed to cancel taxes as follows:
  2. 2021 - $ 7,316.30 2022 - $ 7,256.65 - 1st half taxes until the final half of 2022 is determined.

WHEREAS, The Township acquired Block 15901 Lot 34 on 9/21/21 and is exempt for the remainder of 2021 taxes, and;

WHEREAS, The Township acquired Block 20701 Lot 4 on 9/1/21 in lieu of foreclosing Township Lien# 09-00200 and is exempt from taxes, and;

WHEREAS, the Township Lien and taxes listed below need to be cancelled for 2021 and the 2022 Preliminary taxes need to be removed as well until the parcels are listed as exempt in the 2022 tax duplicate.
