Attorney Greg McGuckin asked if there was any changes from the plan that was adopted at last night meeting by Planning Board or recommended by the Planning Board. Mr. Van der Kooy stated no substantial changes from last night meeting. It did pass unanimously.

WHEREAS, the Jackson Township Planning Board adopted an amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan, on December 20, 2021 (as amended on December 21, 2021), incorporating ministerial amendments as provided to and approved by the Special Master during the Township’s 2015 Mount Laurel Declaratory Judgment litigation; and

WHEREAS, the Township Council has reviewed the amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan adopted by the Planning Board and determined that it should be endorsed; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:

  1. That the governing body does hereby endorse the amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan adopted by the Jackson Township Planning Board.
  2. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Special Master.

TITLE: APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT OF XIOMARA ORTIZ AS REGISTRAR

MOTION TO APPROVE BY: FLEMMING MOTION SECONDED BY: CHISHOLM YES: BORRELLI, CHISHOLM, SAUICKIE, FLEMMING, KERN

WHEREAS, a need has arisen in Jackson Township for the appointment of a Registrar due to the impending retirement of current Registrar, Janice Kisty, on December 31, 2021; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:8-15, any vacancy occurring in the office of local registrar shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment but for the unexpired term only; and

WHEREAS, Xiomara Ortiz currently serves as Alternate Deputy Registrar; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Township Council to appoint Xiomara Ortiz as Registrar to fill said vacancy.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Jackson Township Council in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, as follows:

  1. Xiomara Ortiz is hereby appointed as Township Registrar for the unexpired term of current Registrar Janice Kisty, commencing January 1, 2022 and ending August 25, 2024.
  2. Fees paid to the Registrar and Deputy Registrar are paid in accordance with State Statutes.
  3. Copies of this resolution to appointee, the State Registrar, the Municipal Administrator, Personnel Department, Payroll and any other interested parties.
