WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a)(i) permits this appointment without advertising for bids pursuant to Appraisal Services being a Professional Service; and

WHEREAS, the Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.) requires that the Notice of a resolution authorizing the award of contracts for “Professional Services” without competitive bids must be publicly advertised; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that a maximum of $2,500.00 is available for this purpose.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Committee of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, and State of New Jersey as follows:

  1. John A. Coan, Jr. SCGREA, CTA, IFA is hereby appointed to provide professional appraisal services for the Township of Jackson
  2. This appointment is made without competitive bidding for “Professional Services” to be performed by a person authorized by law to practice a recognized profession.
  3. The Mayor and Township Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver the contract to said appointee.
  4. A Notice of this appointment shall be advertised as required by law.
  5. That upon the adoption of this resolution, the Township Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to the Administrator, Chief Financial Officer and John A. Coan, Jr.

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a)(i) permits this appointment without advertising for bids pursuant to Appraisal Services being a Professional Service; and
