WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:5-11 permits the appointment without advertising for bids; and

WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a)(i) permits this appointment without advertising for bids pursuant to Appraisal Services being a Professional Service; and

WHEREAS, the Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.) requires that the Notice of a resolution authorizing the award of contracts for “Professional Services” without competitive bids must be publicly advertised; and

WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that a maximum of $2,500.00 is available for this purpose.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Committee of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, and State of New Jersey as follows:

1. Peter Maher is hereby appointed to provide professional appraisal services for the Township of Jackson
2. This appointment is made without competitive bidding for “Professional Services” to be performed by a person authorized by law to practice a recognized profession.
3. The Mayor and Township Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver the contract to said appointee.
4. A Notice of this appointment shall be advertised as required by law.
5. That upon the adoption of this resolution, the Township Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to the Administrator, Chief Financial Officer and Peter Maher.
