# TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON RESOLUTION 380-2025
### AUTHORIZING ONE YEAR EXTENSION AND EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT TO INTERSTATE WASTE SERVICE OF NEW JERSEY, INC. FOR RECYCLING COLLECTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson duly advertised for the receipt of bids for Recycling collection services and, in response to the invitation to bidders only one bid, Interstate Waste Service of New Jersey, was received and Interstate Waste Service of New Jersey, Inc. was awarded a contract for such services for a three year period expiring December 31, 2025, with an option to extend the contract for two (2) additional one (1) year periods; and,
WHEREAS, the Township Council believes an extension of the contract is in the best interest of the Township; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body to extend the contract with Interstate Waste Service of New Jersey, Inc., to provide recycling collection services for an additional one (1) year period
WHEREAS, the contract awarded provided for collection of recycling every other week as a cost-savings measure; and
WHEREAS, the Township has received numerous requests from residents detailing the hardships encountered by such residents due to the lack of weekly collection; and
WHEREAS, it is therefore the desire of the governing body to amend the contract with Interstate Waste Service of New Jersey, Inc. so as to provide for weekly collection of recycling; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the governing body does hereby authorize an extension of its contract with Interstate Waste Service of New Jersey, Inc. to provide recycling collection services for an additional one (1) year period, commencing January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2026 in the form attached hereto as Schedule A.
2. That a certified copy of this resolution, together with a copy of the contract between the parties, shall be provided by the Municipal Clerk to the Chief Financial Officer and Interstate Waste Service of New Jersey, Inc.
