RESOLUTION 173R-08 TITLE: APPROVE A GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN JACKSON TOWNSHIP AND THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY BY AND FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

MOTION TO APPROVE BY: GUDAITIS MOTION SECONDED BY: INGRAM YES: INGRAM, MARTIN, GUDAITIS & UPDEGRAVE ABSENT: STALLONE

WHEREAS, the governing body of Jackson Township desires to further the public interest by obtaining a grant from the State of New Jersey in the amount of approximately $3,000.00 to fund the “Community Forestry Management Plan Green Communities Grant”; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as follows:

1. The governing body resolves that Mark A. Seda or the successor to the Office of Mayor is authorized (a) to make application for such grant, (b) if awarded, to execute a grant agreement with the State for a grant in an amount not less than $3,000.00 and not more than $3,000.00, and (c) to be executed any amendments thereto which do not increase the Grantee’s obligations.
2. The Township Council authorizes and hereby agrees to match 33.3% of the Total Project Amount, in compliance with the match requirements of the agreement. The availability of the match for such purposes, whether cash, services, or property, is hereby certified 50% of the match will be made up of in-kind services (if allowed by grant program requirements and the agreement).
3. The Township Council agrees to comply with all applicable federal, State, and municipal laws, rules, and regulations in its performance pursuant to the agreement.
4. That upon adoption of this Resolution, the Clerk is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of it to the Township Administrator, Chief Financial Officer and the State of New Jersey.

TITLE: APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5) POLICE INTERCEPTORS THROUGH STATE CONTRACT VENDOR-CHARLES WINNER, INC.

MOTION TO APPROVE BY: GUDAITIS MOTION SECONDED BY: INGRAM YES: INGRAM, MARTIN, GUDAITIS & UPDEGRAVE ABSENT: STALLONE

WHEREAS, the Police Department has requested approval for the purchase of five (5) 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors; and

WHEREAS, the Township Council has considered the Police Department's need for five (5) 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors; and

WHEREAS, Charles Winner, Inc. has a State Contract #70462 for Motor Vehicles/Law Enforcement, specifically 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12a and N.J.A.C. 5:34-7.29(c) may by resolution and without advertising for bids, purchase any goods or services under the State of New Jersey Cooperative Purchasing Program for any State Contracts entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Division of the treasury; and
