WHEREAS, the above represents currency found/recovered by the Jackson Township Police Department during an investigation; and

WHEREAS, each investigation failed to identify the owner of said currency; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:14-157 and the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Property and Evidence police, the Jackson Township Police Department is requesting the money become the property of the Township of Jackson and be deposited in the Jackson Township General Trust account entitled “Forfeiture Fund”; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Jackson Township Committee to act upon the request of the Jackson Township Police Department as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, as follows:

1. That the above listed property now becomes the sole property of the Jackson Township Police Department and shall be disposed of pursuant to applicable law and deposited in “Special Law Enforcement Trust Account”.
2. Copies of this resolution to Administrator, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Public Safety and any other interested parties.
