About

This project will widen the intersection of Alternate US 19 (Bayshore Blvd) and SR 586 (Curlew Road). Additional lanes will be added as follows:

  • 1 northbound ALT US 19 travel lane from south of Baywood Drive to north of SR 586 (Curlew Road)
  • 1 southbound ALT US 19 travel lane from SR 586 (Curlew Road) to Baywood Drive
  • 1 eastbound SR 586 (Curlew Road) travel lane from ALT US 19 to just west of St. Marks Drive
  • A new traffic signal will be installed at this intersection to accommodate the widening.

  • Additional Safety Improvements:
  • A pedestrian crossing will be added at ALT US 19 and Tradewinds Drive, complete with overhead signals.
  • Sidewalks and bicycle lanes will be extended and improved throughout the project area.
  • Bus stops will be enhanced, and a new bus bay will be added.

This project will also extend the life of the existing pavement through resurfacing and improve drainage along Alternate US 19 (Bayshore Blvd) and SR 586 (Curlew Road) in Pinellas County.
