RE: Property Tax Abatement

To: Board of Supervisors

In accordance with Iowa Code Section 445.63, I am requesting the abatement of delinquent property taxes for several parcels currently owned by municipalities or other political subdivisions.

The enclosed list identifies parcels with either delinquent taxes or active tax balances still showing in the system. Notice of the delinquency was previously provided to the appropriate governing bodies through either standard property tax statements or delinquency notices, fulfilling the statutory requirement for notification under this Code section.

Abating these amounts will:

• Eliminate uncollectible delinquencies on government-owned parcels.
• Prevent unnecessary future delinquency notices, and
• Ensure that no future taxes are assessed while the parcels remain in public ownership.
