LETTERS FROM THE COMMUNITY

Today I travelled by train from Manchester to Yarm and had the privilege of being sat beside three Teesside students. They shared a table with me briefly and I must admit, it was an absolute delight. Such a wonderfully considerate group of young adults. They were positive, kind, thoughtful and intelligent. I was so impressed and genuinely engaged by them. They talked about their courses with each other, they discussed their time with mentors, and more. Meeting these three made me feel the future is bright. As a previous student of Teesside it makes me remember and realise just how brilliant of an institution you are. Outstanding work!

Teresa Carthy, BA (Hons) Business Studies, 1999 As I write down my Teesside University journey, a flood of memories rushes back: memories of late-night research sessions, laughter echoing through the group discussions, and the profound connections I made. It's incredible to think that my postgraduate time at the university was just a few months ago, but the impact it has had on my life is immeasurable. I'm ready to give value to the world with the knowledge and values instilled in me by my alma mater.

I remember those passionate lecturers who challenged me to think beyond the ordinary, pushing me to question the status quo and find innovative solutions to complex problems. They nurtured my curiosity and fostered a love for lifelong learning. But it wasn't just the academics that shaped my growth; it was the vibrant community I became a part of, the friendships that blossomed, the cultural exchanges that broadened my perspectives, and the shared experiences that forged unbreakable bonds. As I reflect on my journey, I'm humbled by the achievements of my fellow alumni as well. I've connected with other alumni who are pioneers in their respective fields, making strides in groundbreaking research, leading companies with integrity, and giving back to communities with unwavering compassion.
