  1. That the Township Council does hereby authorize the re-advertisement and acceptance of proposals through a Fair and Open Process pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et seq. for the following Legal/Professional Services for the Township of Jackson for CY 2017: Planning Board Attorney, Special Legal Counsel, Cell Tower Consultant and Title Search Company
  2. That after the date and time for the receipt of sealed proposals has been determined; a Notice for the Solicitation of Professional Services shall be advertised as prescribed by law.
  3. A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Municipal Administrator, Purchasing Department, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment and any other interested parties.

TITLE: AUTHORIZE ACCEPTANCE OF COPS-IN-SHOPS COLLEGE /FALL INITIATIVE 2016-2017 GRANT AWARD #AL-17-45-05-01

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control has received grant funds from the Division of Highway Traffic Safety to administer the Cops-In-Shops College/Fall Initiative for 2016-2017; and

WHEREAS, it is the intent and spirit of the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control to use the grant to assist local undercover law enforcement officers to join forces with local retail establishments to deter the sale of alcohol to underage individuals and to stop adults from attempting to purchase alcohol for people under the legal age; and

WHEREAS, the Township of Jackson previously submitted an application to the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control for participation in this grant program; and

WHEREAS, after careful consideration, the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control has approved and allocated $2,800.00 in funding to the Township of Jackson for the assignment of officers to Cops-In-Shops Details from December 1, 2016 through June 15, 2017; and

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Jackson Township Police Department to accept this grant award in the amount of $2,800.00 for the Cops-In-Shops College Fall Initiative Grant 2016-2017 (December 1, 2016 through June 15, 2017); and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Township Council to accept this grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, that:

  1. Jackson Township hereby accepts the grant award as set forth in the Cops-In-Shops College/Fall Initiative for 2016-2017 in the amount of $2,800.00.
  2. Upon the adoption of this resolution, the Clerk is authorized to forward a certified copy to Municipal Administrator, Chief of Police, Officer Mark S. Rodina, CFO, and any other interested parties.
