COUNCIL PRESIDENT NIXON – a moment of silence for all our women and men serving our Country in the armed services here and overseas. As we look to this holiday season, they will not be with their families because they’re protecting our freedoms.
As Clerk of this meeting, I publicly announce that in compliance with the provisions of the “Open Public Meetings Act” adequate notice of this meeting of the Jackson Township Council has been advertised in the manner prescribed by law.
COUNCILMAN BRESSI – Thanked everyone for coming out and wished a wonderful holiday season. Please realize that you have the right to celebrate your holiday, whatever that may be, because of those that gave the supreme sacrifice; our freedoms have been sustained by the Veterans. Please take a moment out to think of the Veterans that allow you to sustain the holiday you celebrate.
COUNCILMAN MARTIN – Thanked everyone for coming out. We’ve already some bad weather so please be safe when you’re on the roads. He wished everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
COUNCILWOMAN UPDEGRAVE – Thanked everyone for coming out and wished everyone a happy holiday season. There will be a Menorah Lighting on December 17th at 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall. I congratulate the Jaguars and I was unable to attend as I was with a sick family member. During this holiday season, please try to remember someone who is less fortunate. There are a lot of people who are alone and cannot put food on the table. Buying something for them or dropping off a meal would be appreciated. It would lighten their life for a brief moment. I’m involved with adopt a family with my church and we fed over 800 families and we adopted over 200 families. Have a safe trip home.
COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT CALOGERO – Great job to the Jaguars; its proof that hard work and dedication leads to success. This is our last meeting of the year and I wish everyone a happy holiday and new year. Drive home safely.
COUNCIL PRESIDENT NIXON – I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday season. This time of the year we get an opportunity to be good to each other. One kindness begets another kindness and let's hope it can carry into next year; we need a lot less acrimony. Be kind to each other and I appreciate everyone who participates to make this a better town. Thank you and have a good holiday.
